Answers to some of your most-asked questions...
- How much does Oregon Pinot Camp cost?
- There is a $100 registration fee.
You also have to get yourself here and pay for your lodging.
-
- What meals are provided?
- Appetizers and wine tasting Saturday evening.
Coffee, fruit & breakfast breads will be served before
the first workshop on Sunday and Monday (Days 1 and 2); lunch
and dinner
are provided on Day 1 and Day 2. No meals provided on Tuesday
(Day 3).
-
- What clothing should I bring?
- Dress for camp is Wine Country Casual. Bring
shoes that you don't mind getting muddy for vineyard workshops.
And lots of layers for Oregon's cool mornings to be shed as the
day warms up (we hope!).
-
- What will the weather be like?
- The average temperature in June is 74°
for the high and 53° for the low with average precipitation
of 1.48". However, OPC takes place at the end of the month,
so it could be warmer. Being Oregon, you should be prepared
for
rain and cooler weather, just in case.
-
- Will my allergies kick in?
- Yes. Oregon's grasses bring out the best
of allergy symptoms. Bring your allergy medicine!
-
- How do I get invited?
- Contact the Oregon wine distributor in your
local area.
-
- Do I have to stay in a particular hotel?
- No. However, we have blocked space in three
facilities in Newberg and three in McMinnville. (See Accommodations)
You'll be spending very little time there. These are simple accommodations
-- no glamour. Both Newberg and McMinnville are centrally located
to OPC activities.
Bus transportation will be provided from the six motel locations
only. If you choose to stay elsewhere, you will be assigned to
one of these motels for pickup. We will need to know where you
are staying so we can tell you where to meet your bus.
-
- Is transportation provided from the
airport?
- There is no scheduled airport transportation
to the wine country. All major car rental companies are available
at the Portland airport. We do provide transportation to all OPC
activities, but you will want a car to get to the wine country
and for Tuesday winery visits. (Map)
